Given: time taken -t = 30 minutes= 30/60 =0.5 hours

           distance - d = 18km

To Find: speed (v) in m/s

Solution:

Formula used:

speed = d/t

Applying the above formula:

v = d/t

v = 18/0.5

v = 36 km/h

To convert into m/s

1km = 1000m

36 km = 36 × 1000 m

1h = 60 × 60 = 3600 seconds

36km/h = 36 × 1000/3600 m/s

             = 36  ×  5/18

          v = 10m/s

Hence, speed of the car is 36km/h or 10m/s.

Given,

Distance travelled=18km

Time taken=30 minutes

To Find,

Speed in km/h and in m/s.

Solution,

30 minutes=30/60hr=0.5hr

Speed of the car= distance travelled/time taken

Applying the above formula,

Speed = 18km/0.5hr

Speed = 36 km/hr

We have to convert this km/hr into m/s

So,1km = 1000m

36 km = 36 × 1000 m=36000m

1h = 60 × 60 = 3600 seconds

1km/h = 1000m/3600s

            =  5/18m/s

Then, 36km/hr=36×5/18

                       =10m/s

So, speed in m/s is 10m/s

Hence, speed of the car is 36km/h and in m/s is 10m/s.
