When the snake makes its way through to the doctor though he gets stunned yet his mind was really active. It can be proved by the following lines in the story.
(1)The doctor could see the open door that showed darkness outside by the light of the lamp.
(2) He could feel pain in his left arm due to the presence of the snake. This whole excerpt is taken from the funny story. "The Snake and The Mirror."
