the earth moving round the sun in a circular orbit is acted upon by a force and hence work must be done on the earth by this force do you agree with this statement?

here the Force acted is perpendicular to the direction of acceleration or movement of Earth and so :
Work = Force * Displacement* cos(angle between Force and displacement)
and here angle is 90 ,cos90= 0 .And so work = 0 Joules...
therefore no work will be done
