The earth's crust can be divided into two types mainly:
1.Upper Crust: granitic rocks
2.Lower Crust: basaltic rocks
It also plays a great role in supporting the life on earth and it's effects are:
a) to maintain the heat balance of our planet and keep it neutral,
and
b) it results in many natural disasters such as- earthquake and volcano.

(plate tectonics play a major role in it)
