The East Coast is divided into the 3 parts as shown below:

  • (1.) Utkal Coast: Utkal coast stretches Chilika lake in Odisha and Kolleru lake in Andhra Pradesh. It is about 450 km in length present majorly in Odisha.
  • (2.) Sarcar Coast: Sarkar coast stretches from Kolleru lake in Andhra Pradesh to Pulicot lake in Tamil Nadu. It is about 975 km which is the second largest coast line in India. It is also known as Andhra Coast.
  • (3.) Coromandal Coast: Coromandal coast stretches from Pulicot lake in Tamil Nadu to Kanya Kumari in Tamil Nadu. It is about 906 km in length and is present in Tamil Nadu.
  • Therefore the East Coast is divided into 3 parts- (1.) Utkal Coast, (2.) Sarcar Coast, and (3.) Coromandal Coast.
