Heya Mate!!

Here's your answer!!

Length of edge of  big cube = a = 12cm

Length of edge of  smaller cube = a₁ =  4cm

Let the number of smaller cubes be x.

By question,

Since x number of smaller cubes are cut from 1 big cube,

Volume of smaller cubes = Volume of bigger cube

=> x × a₁³ = a³

=> x × 4³ = 12³

=> x = 12 × 12 × 12 / 4 × 4 × 4

=> x = 3 × 3 × 3

=> x =  27

Therefore 27 smaller cubes of edge 4cm can be cut out from a larger cube of edge 12cm.

Hope it helps you!!

Cheers :D

x*4cube =12cube

x=12*12*12*/4*4*4

x=3*3*3=27
