Given:-

  • The edge of a cubical box is 8cm.One fourth of the box is filled with sand.

To Find:-

  • What is the volume of the sand?

Concept:-

  • Firstly let's understand the concept. Concept used here is Volume of the cube.Substitute the values in the equation and solve it.Then,multiply it by 1/4(one - fourth).

Formulae Applied:-

  • Volume of a cube = a^3

Solution:-

Edge = 8cm

Volume = ??

Volume of a cube = a^3

According to the Question we have!

⟹ a^3

⟹ 8 × 8 × 8

⟹ 512

512cm^3

Therefore,

The volume of the cuboidal box is 512cm^3.

Since,One - fourth (1/4) of the cuboidal box is filled with sand.

Volume of sand = Volume of cuboidal box × 1/4

⟹ Volume of cuboidal box × 1/4

⟹ 512 × 1/4

⟹ 512/4

⟹ 128

128cm^3

Hence,

The volume of sand is 128cm^3.
