Root pressure is more effective and important at night because at night there is no sunlight. This means that there is no transpiration taking place so no transpirational pull will occur. Hence, the plant will be entirely dependent on Root Pressure for conducting water to the top portions of the plant.

Root pressure is more essential for in night because there is no sunlight and transpiration doesn't occurs and hence water can't reach to leaves without tranpirational pull so that in night plant is totally depended on root pressure to absorb water from soil.
