If we talk about the forest Act 1878 & Forest policies around that time imposed by British government then it was real bad & affects the life of many Section of society. It was over the night rule which put the life of many communities on halt suddenly. For those whose life was totally depends upon forest & on the land adjacent by forests was turned into nightmare. British imposed the rules which only fever them without giving a second thought to the problems of Tribes those totally depends upon the forest for their daily livelihood. In the name of forest conservation it was humiliation of many small communities & their hidden agenda of business of by-products of forests. They forced them to stop the agriculture nearby forest land, full prohibition to go into the forest for any kind of need. This forced them to leave or relocate with their families to other locations. Government banned everything like collection of anything form forest land or nay kind of cultivation nearby them. It was really a kind of loot of britishers again. People never got paid or any kind of compensation for losing the comfort of their life & leaving there own land. Effect of such Acts, again government benefitted with cheap labour in market. Jobless & hopeless people ready work at any price. Few lucky got the chance of work in forest only but that wasn’t enough for them according to their hard work on their own land for someone else. At that time most of tribal people was totally depend upon the forest for their livelihood. They removed form their own place & later they faced back to back many famines. It was one of tragedy of India at that time. Whereas britishers again cashed on all possible resources from forest & forest animals in the name of protection & welfare only. It left many people devastated , disappointed & depressed . It was a well-planned colonial extend of cruel mind British government. They declare any land cover by tress under the forest act. It powered them to rule & manage according to theirs demands.

Later even in the 1920 the new act by GOI was also not much helpful to the people because t was more of copy of decree of 1878 only. By the time it implanted natural calamities washed out most of forests & animals under the own course of Mother Nature. Finally people left with empty hands only. If at that time government of India consulted & talked  with remaining people & tribal to think about  from their side , definitely  picture of Indian forests were been  more green & mood of many forest tribes were good towards Government .
