Floods have major  social consequences for grp of people  and individuals.  The immediate impacts of flood include loss of human life, damage to property, destruction of crops, loss of livestock, and deterioration of health conditions owing to waterborne disease

Some examples of floods are ( related to Assam and Bihar)

  1. In Assam 1.4 million people in affected by the floods due to heavy rainfall in the North East.  Incessant rainfall in the last 72 hours have hit rescue and relief operations. Many areas are cut off due to flooding.
  2. Bihar is India's most flood prone state. Approximately , In Bihar flood affects about 6.880 million hectares of land out of about 9.416 million hectare. Flood  not only affects the infrastructure but also the socio-economic life in the state.
