The electric charge of any body is actually a surplus or deficit of electrons. why not protons?​

this is because electron has less mass than proton so if we surplus or heat the metal then electrons er ejected

then we say that protons can't transfer or deficit due to heavy mass.........

Protons are positively charged particles which is present in the nucleus of an atom .

Electrons are negatively charged particles which is present in valence shells or energy levels of an atom .

The electric charge of any body is the excess or deficit of electrons . Here the term 'protons' is not used because :

➡ Electrons are the particles rather the sub atomic particles which are exchanged due to friction or reaction or bonding .

➡ Number of protons remain constant because they are bound within the nucleus and hence the deficit or excess of protons do not matter .

The charge of a body hence depends on electrons and not on protons .

The term 'electrons' is better to use in this case .
