The electric field due to a charged parallel plate capacitor affected when a dielectric slab is inserted between the plates fully occupying the intervening region. Why?

because when the dielectric slab is inserted between the plates the slab gets polarised . Thus it decreases the electric field between plates. and we know that Capacitance is inversely proportional to the electric field . thus it affects dude
