Electric filed due to an dipole in axial position is given by the formula,

  e = 2kp/r³  [e is E, as given in Question. ]

Electric filed due to an dipole in equatorial position is given by the formula,

  E = kp/r³

This means Electric filed in Equatorial position is half of the electric field at Axial Position for the same distance 'r'.

Now, We know, If we rotate the axial Position by 90°, then it becomes Equatorial and vice-versa.

Thus, If axial position is reversed by 90°, then it will be equatorial.

Therefore,

   E equa. = e/2

Hope it helps.
