The electronic configuration of metal A is 2,8,18,1. The metal A when exposed to
air and moisture, forms B a green layered compound. A with con.H2SO4 forms C
and D along with water. D is a gaseous compound. Find A.B.C and D.​

A is Copper, B is a mixture of CuCO3 & Cu(OH)2, C is CuSO4 and D is SO2 gas

- The electronic configuration clearly tells us that the atomic no of element is (2+8+18+1) =29

- So the given metal A is Copper (Cu = 29)

- When copper (metal A) gets exposed to air and moisture, it forms a mixture of copper carbonate and copper hydroxide which is in the form of a greenish layer

- This is B, the green layered compound

- When copper reacts with conc. H2SO4, then it forms Copper sulphate and sulphur dioxide gas along with water

- So, C is Copper sulphate  and D is sulphur dioxide gas
