The electrons identified by quantum numbers n and ???? :
(A) n = 4, ???? = 1 (B) n = 4, ???? = 0
(C) n = 3, ???? = 2 (D) n = 3, ???? = 1
can be placed in order of increasing energy as :
(a) (C) < (D) < (B) < (A) (b) (D) < (B) < (C) < (A)
(c) (B) < (D) < (A) < (C) (d) (A) < (C) < (B) < (D)

The electrons identified by quantum numbers n can be placed in order of increasing energy:-

•by using (n+l) rule...which states that electrons can be filled first which has least value of (n+l)

• as value of (n+l) increase, energy increase

•and for same value of (n+l), energy depends on 'n'

Therefore:- (D) < (B) < (C) < (A)

Option (b) is correct
