See , that I think so that
The value of l is from 0 to (n-1) then if
n = 1 then l = 0
n = 2 then l = 0,1
n = 3 then l = 0 , 1, 2
n = 4 then l = 0 ,1,2,3
And the particular value among these values are depend on the value of m ( magnetic quantum number)..
