Na and Mg belong to the first group of the periodic table and the group is called alkali metals.

F and Cl belong to the 17th group of the periodic table and the group is called halogens.

II) The law that arranges of elements according to increasing atomic masses was given by Dmitri Mendeleev .

The law states that , "The properties of element are the periodic function of their atomic masses".
