the elevation of Mt Everest is 29018 feet. the elevation of the deep sea is -485 feet. what is the difference in the elevation between Mt Everest and the dead sea.

the difference is 29018-(-485)feet
= 29018+485 = 29503 feet answer

Mt. Everest, the highest elevation in Asia, is 29,028 feet above sea level. The Dead Sea, the lowest elevation, is 1,312 feet below sea level.

This is shown in the image below.


As the two are in opposite direction, one being above sea level and other being below sea level,

To find the difference between these two elevations, we should add the two figures i.e.

29,028+1,312=30,340 feet.
