Dear Student,

● Answer -

l2 = 47 cm

◆ Explanation -

# Given -

l1 = 15 cm

e = 1 cm

# Solution -

Lowest resonant length is given as -

l1 + e = λ/4

λ = 4 (l1 + e) ...(1)

For next resonant length,

l2 + e = 3λ/4

λ = 4/3 (l2 + e) ...(2)

Equating (1) and (2),

4 (l1 + e) = 4/3 (l2 + e)

3l1 + 3e = l2 + e

l2 = 3l1 + 2e

Substitute values,

l2 = 3×15 + 2×1

l2 = 45 + 2

l2 = 47 cm

Hence, next resonant length will be 47 cm.

Thanks dear. Hope this helps you...
