The end of a cell is 1.5v .On the connecting a 14ohm resistance across the cell, the terminal p.d falls to 1.4v. calculate the internal resistance of the cell

Given,

∑ =1.5V

R= 14Ω

v=1.4V

r(internal resistance)=R(∑/v  -1) = 14( 1.5/1.4. -1) =14 (1.5-1.4/1.4)= 14(0.1/1.4)

                                                  = 14(1/14)= 1Ω
