If we are ground level then we are on X- Axis,,and y coordinate will be 0.
Putting y=0 in equation ,,we get
11/50(X-4)(X-24)=0
,which gives two values x=4 &x=24 ,
These are two Points where tunnel intersect the X axis ,and width will be given by :
W = 24-4=20
If we are ground level then we are on X- Axis,,and y coordinate will be 0.
