The solar energy enters in the ecosystem when the sutotrophs absorb it. Usually, autotrophs absorb 10% of sunlight falling on their leaves. They use it for photosynthesis. Later on, this energy is passed on as we move up the food chain.

The entry point of solar energy in an ecosystem is Plants or the producers.

Explanation:

  • A food chain is a place where there is exchange of energy between the different layers of organisms.
  • The first strata is formed by the plants who trap the energy from the sun and make their own food, this is followed by the herbivores who feed on the plants.
  • Then comes the carnivores who feed on the herbivores. Then comes the scavengers who feed on the dead and give energy back to the plants.
