Given:

A circuit consisting of two capacitors have been provided.

To find:

Equivalent capacitance in-between Terminals A and B?

Calculation:

First of all , you can see the plane wire which connected to both the sides of the middle capacitor. This means that the capacitor is shorted and should not be considered during calculation.

  • The left and the right capacitors are in series.

Let equivalent capacitance be C_(eq):

 \therefore \:  \dfrac{1}{C_{eq}}  =  \dfrac{1}{C}  +  \dfrac{1}{C}

 \implies \:  \dfrac{1}{C_{eq}}  =  \dfrac{2}{C}

 \implies \:  C_{eq}=  \dfrac{C}{2}

So, equivalent capacitance is C/2.
