equivalent weight of KMnO₄ = Mol. Weight of KMnO₄/ n - factor

In reaction, it is clear that number of electron gained = 3
So, n - factor = 3
Mol.weight of KMnO₄ = 39 + 55 + 4 × 16 = 158 g/mol
Now, equivalent weight = 158/3 = 52.7

Hence, option (b) is correct
