let radius be 100 unit now by adding or subtracting the 1% error of the measurement we will get 99 or 101

now since pi is a constant therefore we neglect it in calculating the area of the circle .

Therefore,

(100^2-(99)^2 = 10000-9801=199

(101)^2 = 10201-10000=201 hence the error will be 2%
