Expression for Time period of SHM:

  • General expression for time period in SHM is 2π√(m/k).

  • |F| = kx (definition of SHM )

 \sf T = 2\pi \sqrt{ \dfrac{m}{k} }

 \sf  \implies T = 2\pi \sqrt{ \dfrac{m}{( \dfrac{F}{x}) } }

 \sf  \implies T = 2\pi \sqrt{ \dfrac{m}{( \dfrac{m \times a}{x}) } }

 \sf  \implies T = 2\pi \sqrt{ \dfrac{x}{a} }
