Democracy has various functions, thus it becomes a testimony.

  • Citizens' dignity and freedom are supported by democracy. Every person wishes to be respected by peers. Many disagreements arise among humans as some people believe they are not treated with respect.
  • The essence of democracy is that elected leaders are accountable to the electorate, and at defined intervals, they have to go back to the citizens to obtain their approval to remain in power.
  • Democracy is built on a desire for respect and liberty. In India, it has bolstered the aspirations of disadvantaged and discriminatory castes for equality of status and opportunity.
  • It succeeds one check and then moves on to the next. As people become more aware of the benefits of democracy, they want more and want to see it improved.
