"The faster you move the greater is the resistance, until a point when all your energy is used to overcome the resistance. You cannot speed up beyond this point."This is known as inertia in some situations and Friction in some situation.
Inertia is the resistance that do not allow us to change our state of motion or rest. For example when we are moving in bus, suppose the bus driver suddenly breaks the bus. when we were moving, our body was in state of motion. But due to sudden break our body was forced to come in motion of reat. Here the inertia resist us to change the state. Hence due to inertia, you will be thrown forward, when bus is suddenly stopped.
Friction is resistance during motion or during rest. Friction can be acted by many objects. For example if we have to move the object from its rest position we have to apply force that overcomes the friction applied by by the associative ground.
