An organism which is dependent on their host for nutrition is considered a Parasite. The mosquito could not called parasite because it needs blood for reproduction not for nutrition.

As we know male mosquito can survive on plant nectar, the female need high amount of protein for egg laying so it crave for blood.

Another factor is that parasite is dependent on their host for long period of time. Mosquitoes are not like this they suck blood from an organism and leave.

Female mosquito is not considered as parasite

Explanation:

Parasites are those organisms that live and feed upon different organism and causes harm to that organism.

Female mosquitoes feed upon blood for reproduction but they don't live within the host's body or obtain nutrient from the host.

Male mosquito feed on the sap juice and they don't feed on blood as they don't require it.
