the field and the cloud are lovers.how does the rain act as a messenger between them?

Rain cures the ailment of clouds by shedding all the burden. It also quenches the thirsty field, by pouring, with motherly love, the water, nourishing and enriching it. Thus, rain calls itself 'a messenger of mercy' in the poem 'Song of the Rain'.
