Solution :

The surface of the table is a trapezium of sides 1 m and 1.2 m respectively and the height is 0. 8 m .

Area of A trapezium = ½ × [ Sum of parallel sides ] × [ Distance between them ]

=> ½ × [ 1 + 1.2 ] × 0.8

=> ½ × 2.2 × 0.8

=> 0.88 m² .

Cost : Rs. 4 / m² .

Thus , the cost of putting a cover on the top becomes :

=> Rs. 4 × 0.88

=> Rs. 3.52

This is the required answer .
