The figure shows a man with a parachute .
1)name the force which is responsible for his downward motion it is a contact or non contact force ?
2)will that man come down with the same speed without the parachute? Explain.

The force due to which the man falls down or comes down is the gravitational force or pull of the earth. This force is a non-contact force and just a pull experienced due to gravity.

If there is no parachute the man will fall down faster the parachute opposes the direction of motion and acts in opposite direction thereby contradicting the speed hence man will land slower with parachute. The friction of air also makes the speed slower in presence of parachute.
