In the given figure,

As the two line are parallel,

Angle 1 = 4(x+7) [ Corresponding angles ]

Angle 1 + 5(x–20) = 180° [ Linear pair ]

4(x+7) + 5(x–20) = 180°

4x + 28 + 5x – 100 = 180°

9x – 72 = 180°

9x = 180 + 72

x = 252/9

x = 28

Hence, the value of x = 28°.
