for lyman series n=1 wavelength is given which is lambda
For balmer series n=2
As wavelength is directly proportional to square of 'n' so, let us assume wavelength of Balmer series to be equal to 'x'
Lambda/x = 1×1/2×2
4(lambda) = x
So, wavelength of balmer series is 4 times of lambda which is wavelength of lyman series
