The first periodic of the periodic table has 2 elements . The second period has 6 elements .How are these numbers related to the total number of electrons in k and L shells of the electronic configuration?​

in the periodic table,

a new period starts when the outermost shell is completed.

like the first period has hydrogen and helium.this elements have 1 n 2 electrons in outermost shell. thus helium completes the outermost shell

similarly the second period begins with lithium having 1 electron in the outermost shell. and in this period the elements complete their octet
