Increasing irrigation and building:-
Between 1950 and 1965 the Indian government invested heavily on irrigation and power projects. It was hoped that this would rise crops products and solve the problem of full shortage. Big dams for irrigation and electric generation like:-
- Bakra-Nangal(Himachal Pradesh)
- Damodar valley (West Bengal)
- Hirakund (Odisha)
- Nagarjuna Sagar (Telangana and Andhra Pradesh)
Were constructed.
