Solutions :-

Given :
The floor of a rectangular room measures 16 m or 1600 cm by 11 m or 1100 cm
The floor has to be tield with square tiles of length 40 cm.

Find the number of tiles required to tiled the floor :-

Number of tiles = Area of floor / Area of each square tiles
= (1600 × 1100)/(40 × 40)
= 1100

Hence,
Number of tiles required = 1100

Answer:

1100 tiles

Step-by-step explanation:

dimensions of room ==>

16m by 11m

= 1600cm by 1100cm  (since, 1m = 100cm)

therefore, area of floor of room = 1600×1100

area of each tile =

40cm × 40cm

therefore,

no. of tiles is equal to = area of floor of the room ÷ area of  each tile

                                    = 1760000÷ 1600

                                    = 1100 tiles

hope it helps you
