Given :-

Dimensions of the room :-

  • Length = 6m = 600cm

  • breadth = 4m = 400cm

Dimensions of the tile :-

  • Length = 12cm

  • breadth = 10cm

To find the numbers of tiles required to cover the floor. We've to divide the area of the floor by the area of 1 tile.

It's clear that both the floor and the tiles are rectangular.

Therefore their area will be = Length × breadth

➡ total no. of tiles required = (600 × 400)/(12 × 10)

= 50 × 40

= 2000

Hence, 2000 tiles are required to cover the floor.
