Swine influenza is firstly observed in pigs. It has many variations in it such as H1N1, H1N2, H3N1 etc. it is also known as pig influenza, hog flu, pig flu etc.

Swine flu is caused by viruses that are subtypes of influenza family. It is also known as SIV or S-OIV virus. The first case of swine flu in humans was seen in 2009 in the Mexico country.

In pigs, it was observed in the year 2000. When the virus from swine or pig is transmitted to the humans it is known as zoonotic swine flu. The people who are always in touch with swine are having more chances of getting infected by that virus.
