It was first identified at the end of February 2003 during an outbreak that emerged in China and spread to 4 other countries. SARS is an airborne virus and can spread through small droplets of saliva in a similar way to the cold and influenza. Most people infected with the virus will experience mild to moderate respiratory illness and recover without requiring special treatment.

6) A highly contagious fungal infection of the skin or scalp.

Ringworm is spread by skin-to-skin contact or by touching an infected animal or object.
