Answer:

hope this helps....................

Step-by-step explanation:

Here, n = 10

Median = average of 5th and 6th observations

25 =

25  2 = 2x + 6

50 - 6 = 2x

44 = 2x

Thus, x = 22

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:-

The following numbers are arranged in ascending order. Their median is 11.

1, 2, 5, x – 3, x + 1, x + 4, 15, 16, 19.

To find:-

(i)Find the value of x and

(i)Find the value of x and(ii)Hence, find their mean

Solution:-

Given observations are :

1, 2, 5, x – 3, x + 1, x + 4, 15, 16, 19.

Number of observations=9

9 is an odd number

Using formula:-

If the number of observations n an odd number then the median is (n+1)/2 th observation

=>(9+1/2

=>10/2

=>5th observation

Median=x+1

given that median=11

=>x+1=11

=>x=11-1

I)X=10

We know that

2)Mean=Sum of observations/No.of observations

=>1+2+5+(10-3)+(10+1)+(10+4)+15+16+19/9

=>(1+2+5+7+11+14+15+16+19)/9

=>90/9

=>10

Mean=10

Answer:-

Value of x=10

Mean=10
