2x-3y=8 (1)

x-6y=9 (2)

(2)×2

2x-12y=18 (3)

substract (3) from (1)

9y= -10

y= -10/9

put y= -10/9 in equation (1)

2x-3(-10/9)=8

2x+10/3=8

2x=8-10/3

2x=24-10/3

2x=14/3

x=14/6

x=7/3

then,

4x-6y=16
