(1) 2x + 3y = 12; x - y =1​

Answer:

2x + 3y = 12 ........i)

x - y = 1 ........ii)

We will apply the elimination method,

so will add both,

2x + 3y = 12

3x - 3y = 3 ( multiplying ii) by 3 )

5x = 15

=> x = 3

substituting the value of x in i),

=> 2 × 3 + 3y = 12

=> 6 + 3y = 12

=> 3y = 6

=> y = 2

therefore, the value of x = 3 and y = 2;
