Step-by-step explanation:

The Cumulative Frequency Table for the given data can be drawn as:

Wages Frequency Cumulative Frequency

0-100 40 40

100-200 39 79

200-300 34 113

300-400 30 143

400-500 45 188

Now, here 'n' is an even number

so, median of given data= { n/2 + (n/2 + 1) }÷2

= {188/2 + (188/2+1) }÷2

= (94th + 95th) ÷2

Clearly, the 94th and 95th observations are the same, i.e., 200-300.

Hence, required median= 200-300
