The force of attraction between two point charges 2 microcoloumb and 6 microcoloumb seperated by 10 cm apart is 100N.what will be the value of force when a 3mm thick cupper sheet inserted between them.

    Let us assume that the copper sheet is very very large in area.  So it shields the effect of one charge on one side from the other.  For very large (infinite) conductor sheet, the potential can be assumed to be 0.  Then we can apply the method of image charges to find force on the charges, due to induced charges on the metal conductor.

 Initially with no metal sheet:  F = 9 * 10⁹ * 2 * 10⁻⁶ * 6 * 10⁻⁶ / 0.10²  N
          F = 10.8 N       Repulsive force.

  with the sheet in between, charges of opposite sign are induced on the surface near the given charges.  Let us say the sheet is exactly in the center.

    Force on 2 ₓ 10⁻⁶ C:  9 * 10⁹ * 2 * 10⁻⁶ * (-2 * 10⁻⁶) / 0.0970²
                       = - 3.825 N  attraction force.

   Force on 6μC charge: 9*10⁻⁹ * 6*10⁻⁶ *(- 6*10⁻⁶) / 0.0485²
                      = - 34.43 N  attraction force.
