Hi there,

Hexane is an Acyclic compound and Cyclohexane is a cyclic compound. As we know that carbon can bound to four hydrogen atoms because of its tetravalency. In Cyclohexane, carbon bonded to two another carbon atoms and remains with two bonds which can be occupied by two hydrogen atoms only. On another hand, Hexane is a linear compound. Carbon atoms have room for two more hydrogen atoms.

Let's compare the structure.

Hope it helps you.
