\mathfrak{\huge{Hi !}}

\sf{Let \:the\: fraction \:be = \frac{x}{y}}\\

When 1 is subtracted from the numerator -

\tt{\frac{x-1}{y} = \frac{1}{3}}\\

=》 3x - 3 = y ...(1)

When 8 is added to the denominator -

\tt{\frac{x}{y + 8} = \frac{1}{4}}\\

=》 4x = y + 8 ...(2)

(1) in (2) :-

=》 4x = 3x - 3 + 8

=》 x = 5

y = 3x - 3 = 12

Fraction = \tt{\frac{5}{12}}\\

\huge{\bf{Answer- C.\: \frac{5}{12}}}\\
