The frame of a lampshade is cylindrical in shape. It has base diameter 28 cm and height 17
cm. it is to be covered with a decorative clothe. A margin of 2 cm is to be given for folding it
over top and bottom of the frame. If 1

Given:
cylinder shaped lampshade.
base diameter = 28cm
height = 17cm

We need to get its surface area to know the measurement of the clothe needed to cover it.

Area = 2 π r h + 2 π r²
A = 2 * 3.14 * 14cm * 17cm + 2 * 3.14 * (14cm)²
A = 1494.64 cm² + 1,230.88 cm²
A = 2,725.52 cm²
