The 18th Century was the pre-revolution France under the rule of King Louis VI. Under his rule, social, political and economic bias and injustice was prevalent. The statesmen and nobles were the privileged ones in France while the poor labourers were facing injustice.


The nobles were exempted from taxes etc. and were given gifts and land from the treasury of the country.


Hence, the statement that; "The French nobility did little but concern themselves with leisure,finery,decadence,affairs and intrigues." is true.

The French Revolution also known as the Revolution of the 1789 was the revolution that shook the whole of France.


The French revolution was partially carried on by Napoleon Bonaparte for the expansion of the French empire.


The revolution led to an abolition of the french monarchy and henceforth led to the development of the french empire that was secular and democratic in nature but became quite militaristic and authoritarian in nature.
