It is rightly said that French society was marked by extreme inequality during French Revolution.
In course of time,French society was divided into 1st,2nd and the 3rd estate which comprised the nobles,the clergy and the working and middle class people.
All these sections were not treated equally.
e.g,The nobles and clergy were exempted from paying taxes but the people of 3rd estate i.e.,farmers,cobblers,traders and middle class section comprising doctors, teachers, lawyers were imposed high taxes and were treated brutally.
